Farm distilled using a base spirit made with the farm's own grain, spring water from the farm and 16 “ethically sourced” botanicals including: juniper, coriander, grapefruit peel, orange peel, cardamom, chamomile and cinnamon.
The folktale behind this gin’s name is based on the first call of the cuckoo being regarded as a sign that spring has arrived. Legend has it that one year the villages of Brindle set about building a wall around the cuckoo that first sung that year in the hope that the bird would bring good fortune in the form of good farming weather. Predictably, the wall was not high enough and the bird escaped. Apparently, anyone born and bred in Brindle is known as a “Brindle Cuckoo” – perhaps disparagingly by neighbouring villages that used nets and cage!
