Review and Tasting

Sampled on 04/11/2018

Appearance:

(sample bottle best before 11/Sep/19) Clear, deep mahogany brown with a moderate tan head.

Aroma:

Blackened fruitcake, roast chestnuts, toasted brown bread, roasted coffee beans, and piney hops.

Taste:

Surprisingly light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Heavily roasted malt, burnt toast and burnt fruitcake with piney hops.

Aftertaste:

Dry, toasty/burnt malt and coffee/cacao.

Overall:

This dark beer will appeal to those who like a deep roast coffee, in this case served with heavily toasted/charred brown bread and blackened fruitcake.
