Named after a deep red dragon fly found in rivers and wetlands close to the brewery, Ruddy Darter is brewed with malted rye and a combination of English hops.
Sampled on 04/11/2018
(sample bottle best before 11/Sep/19) Clear, deep mahogany brown with a moderate tan head.
Blackened fruitcake, roast chestnuts, toasted brown bread, roasted coffee beans, and piney hops.
Surprisingly light-bodied with moderate carbonation. Heavily roasted malt, burnt toast and burnt fruitcake with piney hops.
Dry, toasty/burnt malt and coffee/cacao.
This dark beer will appeal to those who like a deep roast coffee, in this case served with heavily toasted/charred brown bread and blackened fruitcake.
