Grand Marnier's Grand Cuvée Révélation is made using "XXO cognac and only a dash of bigaradia essence" to produce the brand's most Cognac-forward expression.
Grande Cuvée Révélation is based on a blend of 68 eaux-de-vie exclusively from Grande Champagne blended in a "rare XXO cognac" with a minimum age of 14 years.
Sampled on 10/05/2020
Clear, coppery amber with golden highlights.
Elegant tobacco and oak with bright zesty orange, dried fruit and faint candied ginger.
Voluptuous palate with zesty orange-infused cognac. Layers of flavour reveal woody tobacco, dried fruit and zesty acidity.
Warming and satisfying zesty orange cognac.
Perhaps more a delicately orange flavoured cognac than an cognac-orange liqueur, but with more than 100 grams of sugar per litre this is most certainly a liqueur - a very special liqueur. Best enjoyed neat at room temperature at end of an evening in place of fine cognac or single malt.
