A 20-year-old single grain whisky from William Grant's Girvan distillery, bottled by Douglas Laing as part of their Clan Denny series.
Sampled on 05/09/2011
Clear, pale straw golden.
A burst of vanilla and toffee leaps from the nose - a nose perhaps reminiscent of a vanilla-flavoured currant bun than a twenty-year-old whisky.
Ith water, slightly sweet with pronounced vanilla, orange fudge and toffee flavours. Creamy mouthfeel with grainy spirit notes and delicate oak tannins providing backbone.
Lingering fudge and vanilla with citrus and almond flavours. Worth presenting to non-whisky drinkers as a dry vanilla and fudge spirit.
