First brewed in 1969, Efes is named after the ancient port of Ephesus. Bottom fermented and brewed from malted barley and rice with Hallertau hops.
Sampled on 11/09/2011
Clear, golden yellow with a thin head which quickly subsides.
Reminiscent of the crackers used to serve cheese on with sweet-corn and sight grassy aromas.
Somewhat bland, Euro-lager with crusty white bread, weak floral hops and slight metallic flavours.
Mild and refreshing light finish with lingering hop notes.
