Not afraid to take risks and challenge industry norms, our winner will be fuelled by passion and determination. They will have fought to get where they are and optimistic in the face of challenges. Commercially successful and ahead of the curve, they are ambitious for themselves, their team and their wider community.

In this most challenging period for modern day hospitality we'd like to honour the strength, resilience and bravery of bar entrepreneurs. This award will recognise the bar entrepreneur who the judges believe has shown true grit.

This award recognises an emerging entrepreneur who is on their way to greater success. They will be under the age of 30 and will demonstrate through their achievements so far that they have the ability and vision to meet their future entrepreneurial ambitions. This is the only category where owning or part-owning a bar is not a requirement.

• Role model for aspiring bar entrepreneurs
This award recognises the entrepreneur who has demonstrated a commitment to improving the environment and / or their local community, while also achieving business success.

• Successful business model which is socially and / or environmentally impactful
• Team development / management
