The cocktail for the lovers and haters of coffee

Espresso Martini, the coffee cocktail for the lovers and haters of coffee.

Being on lockdown I thought I would try something different and write an article about my favourite drink to make in the boozebybowe kitchen and my place of work. This drink has so many variations which makes it an amazing drink.

Over the last few years the popularity of coffee has exploded and you can't scroll through Instagram without seeing a post including a latte, mocha or an espresso, just to name a few.

This trend has now moved over to the drinks industry and during the last few years sales of coffee cocktails, especially the Espresso Martini, have sky rocketed. You can't go into a bar and not see someone drinking one.

I feel there is a certain style and sophistication which this amazing drink brings to a person and the bar itself.

These cocktails are also popular with the "haters" of coffee which could be down to the strong syrups used, the flavoured liqueur or spirits used making the espresso not as strong in taste. I always advise customers or friends "just give it a try you never know you might like it" and nine times out of 10 they finish the whole drink.

In the boozebybowe kitchen I've tried many variations of this drink including hazelnut, salted caramel and butterscotch just to name a few. One of my favourite is a chocolate style Espresso Martini using a homemade chocolate syrup a chocolate liqueur creme de coca and a vanilla infused vodka. This gives an amazing cocktail some totally new and exciting variations.

The image above is my homemade caramel Espresso Martini using a homemade simple caramel syrup. I'm also using a caramel infused vodka (home infused) and a small hint of vanilla liqueur to give this drink some extra flavour. I'm also using my favourite coffee blend which is a Jamaican roast which is clean in taste with no bitterness.

Our "signature hazelnut Espresso Martini" featured on the bar menu I created by myself. This is my first menu creation and I'm very proud of how much my guests love the menu. The "signature" is the most popular drink on the menu.
