Used Myer's rum. Didn't have Drambuie, so substituted homemade Lithuanian Krupnikas, which is pretty sweet, so skipped the lime cordial.

Probably a completely different drink, but really, really good!!!

I could have sworn I had a bottle of Drambuie but evidently not.
So A bottle of Grand Marnier and a teaspoon of honey had to substitute.

Definitely going to have to add a bottle of Drambuie and retry this .

According to Café Royal Cocktail Book Coronation Edition (1937), this should be made with rum, rather than vodka. Also, the name is supposed to be all one word "Deansgate".

Thanks, Murry. The vodka-based recipe and accompanying image are from the late-1990s and I suspect I found it on a London bar's cocktail list. Whoever created this version must have read the Café Royal but used vodka - the go-to spirit in the 90s. I'll make, update and re-photograph with rum.
