The 5th of May is also traditionally Liberation Day in the Netherlands (Bevrijdingsdag). How about designing a cocktail to celebrate our liberty?

I just mixed Edmund's Covid-19. Mine came out a dirty emerald rather than “rich emerald” but attractive none-the-less. Like the virus, the drink is punchy and likely to leave a lasting effect. Unlike the virus, I’m enjoying it. How about:
Cognac
Orange curacao
Violet liqueur
Italicus
Dubonnet Red

Perhaps something geneverish?

It's a long shot, and hopefully will be out of date by next year, but...
As Curaçao is a Dutch island there is a link.
I was bored (a risk in lockdown UK) so decided to develop a cocktail using only ingredients starting with C,O,V,I, and D. Much harder than you think as there seem to be very few potential cocktail ingredients starting with I or D. Here's what I came up with after rejecting several...
The COVID-19 Cocktail
C - Curaçao (Blue De Kuyper) 10ml
O - Orgeat (Monin) 5ml
V- Vodka (Absolut) 19ml
I - Irish Whiskey (Redbreast 12YO) 40ml
D - Dubonnet (Rouge) 10ml
Stir over ice and serve.
Although the Curaçao is really really blue, the interaction with the dark red Dubonnet makes the whole drink a rich emerald colour. The dominant flavour is citrus with a complexity and depth coming form the orgeat syrup and the whiskey.
At the risk of sounding like a faith healer, and meaning no disrespect to anyone impacted by it, I can assure anyone, that after a few of these you really won't know or care if you've encountered the coronavirus.
Cheers

Happy to look at for next year. Do you have any suggestions?
