Re: the name, I suspect this is in reference to O'Hara's poem "The Day Lady Died" (about the death of Billie Holiday) which includes the line "and for Mike I just stroll into the PARK LANE / Liquor Store and ask for a bottle of Strega" -- that plus O'Hara's noted martini consumption (well, really, the man drank everything, but this is the '60s New York avant-garde art scene we're talking about here) seems likely to be the source of this (excellent!) combination.
