Looks like a Pina Colada and indeed tastes a lot like a Pina Colada but overproof rum, fino sherry and falernum ensure this is no ordinary Pina Colada

I think the full name of the original was "Drunk in the August Sun." The original was a little too sweet, this version is better.

I made a minor tweak, adding about 3/8 oz lime juice. Wray & Nephew for the rum, Harvey's Bristol Cream for the sherry.
Very good cocktail -- a flavor profile that's unique, full, complex but fun.

Not sure if you made it with that or not, but Bristol cream is significantly sweeter than most fino sherry. That may be the difference you note in the original being too sweet.
