I have quite a few things to say regarding 'chai tea' as an Indian. Indeed as Mr Gruff says, this kind of tea (what we actually call masala tea) is made pretty much only with milk, at least traditionally. So it was complicated to think of how to make the drink. Eventually I just made it with black tea and a little bit of cinnamon syrup as well as a muddled cardamom pod and a single clove. Tasted alright, but I wish there was a proper clarification and rectification about the tea.

I've renamed this "Masala chai (cold, no milk)" and added a link explaining what is meant by Masala chai tea.

Where the recipe calls for "Chai latte tea" does this really mean a milk-based spiced tea, or does it just mean chai tea infused in water. Seems like milk would curdle in the alcohol and pineapple (although now I'm curious to try changing the quantities and try a clarified milk-punch variant).

Should be Chai Tea - no milk. Many thanks for bringing to my attention.
