This would explain why I've experienced so many skunky bottles of Heineken. On a related note, is temperature a factor at all in developing skunky or other off flavors?

However there are a few hops types which do not have the light sensitive component of the alpha acids which breaks down.

Not my area of expertise but I understand that such hop extracts (Tetra and Hexa) produce a beer less susceptible to being light-struck but light exposure may still denigrate besides MBT.
my main brand beer "stella" change collor bottels some years ago and i changed my main beer.
