I used botanist gin, which was possibly too nuanced here. Might go with something more traditional next time. And Lustau East India solera for the other half since it already incorporates oloroso - was fantastic. Final result was like a perfect martini, verging on Gin & It (of which I am a fan).

This is simple but great. Turbocharged sherry. Obvs you need to like sherry. I think a very good sherry is going to be critical here. We used Williams and Humbert "A Winters Tale".
