I added a generous squeeze (~1/3 oz-ish) lemon juice and a single grate of lemon rind in place of the lime twist for some brightness as mine was a bit 'heavy' despite the dryness of the calvados, but that could have been due to my brand of liquors. Very sippable. Can see the shake being beneficial (I shook!)

I prefer young calvados to avoid the dryness that comes with prolonged aging. Avallen is a good example of such a calvados.
