Review:

Whiter than white (actually "white wine" golden) yet mysterious. As for the taste, white wine acidity balances rich elderflower with spirituous lacing from apple brandy and aromatic grapey pisco. Should be stirred, but this cocktail does benefit from the dilution and aeration imparted by shaking.

This was wonderful and smooth. Did back off the St-Germain a little to make it a bit more dry. Perfect for an early evening cocktail.

I added a generous squeeze (~1/3 oz-ish) lemon juice and a single grate of lemon rind in place of the lime twist for some brightness as mine was a bit 'heavy' despite the dryness of the calvados, but that could have been due to my brand of liquors. Very sippable. Can see the shake being beneficial (I shook!)

I prefer young calvados to avoid the dryness that comes with prolonged aging. Avallen is a good example of such a calvados.
