Serve in an Old-fashioned glass

Ingredients:
1 barspoon Damson jam (preserve)
2 oz Calvados / apple brandy / straight applejack
1 oz Lemon juice (freshly squeezed)
14 oz Monin Pure Cane Syrup (65.0°brix, equivalent to 2:1 rich syrup)
× 1 1 serving

How to make:

  1. Select and pre-chill an Old-fashioned glass.
  2. Prepare seasonal berries for garnish.
  3. SHAKE all ingredients with ice.
  4. STRAIN into ice-filled glass.
  5. Garnish with seasonal berries.

I did actually have a homemade damson jam and this was delicious but it /definitely/ had too much lemon. Maybe the original recipe uses a very sweet damson jam?

Only had Podravka “plum spread” - not sure how close it is to damson? Tasty and refreshing but not quite the depth of flavour I was hoping for.

I'd reduce the lemon a bit here *OR* I used the wrong jam (bonne maman strawberry rhubarb)
