If you have lots of time, crush the cardamom and allow to infuse in the hot coffee for 1-2 minutes.

Yes, however we steep the pods in the vodka. And yes also, we give the pods a bit of a working over in a mortar and pestle initially. A delightfully aromatic and gentle espresso martini.
