When I say "coconut rum" most such products have at least 100 grams of sugar per litre so are actually liqueurs, while the few that don't have enough sugar...
My problem is that I'm allergic to pineapple. I can't even mix drinks for others using it. I've tried substituting and doctoring recipes, but it usually falls flat.
I agree with you that pineapple overpowers a drinks. But try the wonderful Chartreuse Swizzle! I prefer the "improved" version, with the addiction of Jamaican White Overproof Rum. The pineapple here pairs perfectly with Green Chartreuse. So try a Chartreuse Swizzle, and after that I'm pretty sure that you'll always have pineapple juice at home (it's not necessary to use fresh pressed juice in this drink). Unless you didn't like Green Charteuse either! (that would be terrible, because it's a must)
Kind of with you on this. I drink pineapple drinks because there are other more interesting flavours going on and the pineapple is my least favourite juice, despite liking eating one. Just feel pineapple has a dullness to it that the likes of apple, lime, lemon, orange etc don't have
