Yes, usually you want to dilute the agave with a 1:1 or 2:1. 2 parts agave to 1 water for margarita type drinks like the Picante. Then you can use 3/4 oz. I got to work at Soho House Toronto for 2 yrs and this was a staple and favourite of the members. You can certainly play with the viscosity and amount though, it's all preference but I still recommend some dilution simply for a better mix and you'll get slightly more of the cocktail in the end result with that touch of water.
