Inspiration
The inspiration of my cocktail came when I learned how Italicus is bringing back to life such an ancient Italian liquor as Rosolio using Bergamot as main tasting note. Inspired by that, I considered that Florida has a very peculiar citrus as well, typical of the Keys Islands region, that has a unique bitter and sour taste.
So I picked it as my local ingredient, and then when it comes to the Florida Keys is impossible not to think about Ernest Hemingway who lived there for years and I so decided to twist the notorious Hemingway's Daiquiri with Italicus and my local ingredients. I like semplicity and simple cocktails because they translate to all the palates. I dedicated this drink to a very famous Italian writer, Italo Svevo.
