Back in 2015, The Dead Rabbit’s Rebekkah Dooley launched a series of inspirational seminars which brought together like-minded people from the drinks industry. These started off as The London Sessions but have since travelled across the UK and beyond, helping quench bartenders' thirst for knowledge and shared experiences.
Nidal Ramini and the other folk at Jack Daniel's have been brilliantly supportive of Rebekkah's initiative and in 2016 they co-hosted the inaugural Glasgow Sessions [click link for video and summary]. That event was also the launchpad for Jack Daniel's Tennessee Calling - a competition centred around entrepreneurialism, creativity and quality [click link to view 2016 video].
A year on, October 2017, the sessions continue in Liverpool, and like last year, The Liverpool Sessions will be the launchpad for Tennessee Calling II - a competition which culminates with three UK bartenders being flown to New York to make their drinks at the world famous The Dead Rabbit Grocery & Grog and then onto Tennessee to see the inner workings of the historic Jack Daniel's Distillery.
This inspiring session will be held noon-4pm on 26 October 2017 and will include three back-to-back sessions presented alongside a BBQ and cocktails courtesy of Jack Daniel's. The three speakers are:
Erik is the current (11th) Head Bartender at The American Bar at The Savoy and has picked up two coveted Spirited Awards for Best International Bartender 2011 and Best International Bar Team 2016.
JJ opened his first bar at the age of 24 in 2008 and has since opened seven cocktail bars under the London Cocktail Club umbrella, so is well placed to speak about entrepreneurialism.
Cam is a seasoned bartender and industry expert, with experience working in pubs, clubs and cocktail bars around the world before becoming Jack Daniel's UK Brand Ambassador. Cam will focus on consistency and quality.
As always, The Sessions are free to attend but are strictly RSVP only. RSVP's opened on Monday 11 September and should be sent to Rebekkah Dooley
If you are within sensible travelling distance of Liverpool - Manchester, Blackpool, Leeds etc - then you should attend this seminar as you'll be sure to learn and pick up tips that will help progress your career in the drinks industry. You'll also learn more about Tennessee Calling II - which I urge you to enter.
Sessions quickly book-up and it's first-come-first-served so send that email to Rebekkah Dooley soon.
