Established by Kamiel Filliers circa 1880 when he received the authorization for his “jenever distillery” in Bachte-Maria-Leerne, which allowed him to take over the old agricultural distillery of his uncle, Ferdinand Bernard Filliers, destroyed by fire in 1863. Still family run, the Filliers grain jenever distillery has been in the Filliers for five generations and is now run by Bernard Filliers.
Filliers produce now produce whiskies in addition to traditional grain jenevers and a large range of fruit and cream jenevers, liqueurs and egg liqueurs. Filliers is an important distiller and supplier of fermented malt, a basic product for jenever to other producers in Belgium, the Netherlands and Canada.
