The origins of Libbey, one of the world's largest glass manufacturers, date back to 1818 when the New England Glass Company was founded in East Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA. In 1888, Edward Drummond Libbey, son of the first corporate owner, William, moved the company to Toledo, Ohio which is still the home of Libbey glass today, although the company now also has a factory in Mexico.
