Avada de Murcia,
The Alhambra name, literally ‘the red one’ come from the Arabic for Calat Alhambra meaning ‘the red fortress’, refereeing to the medieval fortress palace in Granada, Spain’s Andalusia region built in the 14th century by the Moorish rulers. The Alhambra Palace is now an UNESCO World Heritage Site.
In 1925 the Alhambra brewery was founded in the shadow of the Alhambra Palace by Carlos Bouvard and Antonio Knorr, both already experienced brewers. The brewery employs slow fermentation methods which can take up to 39 days and use water drawn from the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
