Review

Abbeville Road sits within a villagey, residential area that appears miles away from brash Clapham High Street nearby. The Abbeville rests at the heart of this virtual village, a true local's local that is also a gastro pub.

The space was created by knocking two shops together and was previously known as Flumps. In this incarnation, The Abbeville is a warren of small, interconnecting rooms with two bars and an open kitchen set at the very back were a skylight goes some way to stop this area feeling so gloomy during the day. Dark wood fitting and large TV screens showing sport help create a local's home from home feel.

On summer evenings drinkers spill out onto the pavement, where they stand and chat as if on the village green.

The drinks offering stretches to 23 wines by the glass with a couple of cask ales to choose from, including Timothy Taylor Landlord.
