Review
The talented bar team here will make you feel right at home in Lulu White's boudoir. A boudoir of some renown, for the Lulu (1868-1931) after which this bar takes its name was a New Orleans African-American brothel madam during the Storyville period.
Lulu Whites has something of a speakeasy feel to it but is easily founds thanks to its neon sign outside. Dark woods and shades of green feature in the Belle Époque-influenced interior with the bare light bulbs that arc around the bar canopy reminiscent of a fairground ride.
Absinthe features heavily in the excellent cocktails and an absinthe flight is available. The signature Lulu White cocktail changes with each new iteration of the menu but is always Martini-like and spirit-forward. Another constant is a 'special' cocktail from the slushy machine.
