Tucked in a downstairs corner of the Four Seasons, Pony Line is allegedly polo themed, thus the name. The floor area gives a nod to the idea, with blond wood and stylish leather furniture, but the gleaming metal bar area and the cranking electro-pop give the space more of a glam spaceship vibe. Depending on what you're looking for, that's either a selling point or a word of warning.
The bar caters to swank out-of-towners and trendy locals alike with pristine service and an eclectic, albeit pricy, drinks list that highlights the best of Argentina's national bounty: original cocktails featuring local liquors and housemade ingredients, Patagonian beers, and a number of national and international wines by the glass. Drinks are accompanied by a complimentary serve of wildly addictive spiced potato chips in steel dishes, and a brief but varied list of bar snacks are available for those who need something a bit more substantial.
Pony Line's shortcomings are the predictable faults of the upscale hotel bar: the inherent snobbiness, the inevitable quota of seedy businessmen, the drunk, barely legal children of wealthy tourists. For the most part, however, Pony Line manages to stay cool.
