Crossfire Hurricane is a Jamaican rum, blended from rums distilled at four of the island's distilleries, created around the long relationship between The Rolling Stones and Jamaica, and co-founded and owned by the band.

The Crossfire Hurricane name comes from the opening line of The Rolling Stones' 1968 single Jumpin' Jack Flash: "I was born in a crossfire hurricane."

Crossfire Hurricane Reserve is a blend of rums from four Jamaican distilleries, combining pot and column distillates, different fermentation styles, and aged and unaged components.

Blending across the four distilleries allows funky high-ester rums and tropical-fruity rums to be tempered by softer and more structured rums. No sugar is added to the rum.

Two specialists, Ian Burrell and Cairbry Hill, are co-makers of Crossfire Hurricane Rum, and were closely involved in creating Crossfire Hurricane and helped shape its multi-distillery blends.

Cairbry combines a background in microbiology with an award-winning career in bartending and liquid innovation, while Ian has spent decades promoting a deeper understanding of rum, particularly the importance of recognising the category's diversity of raw materials, fermentation, distillation, maturation, and regional traditions.

Appearance:

Clear, deep golden amber.

Aroma:

Eccles cake, roasted pineapple, flambéed banana, crème brûlée, molasses, toasty oak, nutmeg and cinnamon.

Taste:

Medium to full-bodied with baked pineapple and banana, cinnamon and nutmeg spice, buttery crispy pastry, and toasty oak.

Aftertaste:

Dry toasty oak, creamy vanilla and gingerbread.

Overall:

A little age brings elegance to this characterful Jamaican rum, but it hasn't lost its funk!
