ABA Pisco is distilled using small copper pot stills from wine fermented from 100% Alexandria, a very aromatic Muscat grape. Pisco ABA is aged in oak barrels for three months, and unusually, is charcoal filtered to produce a smooth crystal clear spirit.
ABA Pisco is made by the Aguirre family using methods passed from father to son over generations living in the Elqui Valley. The family's property lies in the heart of this valley, an area recognised as producing the best grapes for pisco production. Their distillery is called Fundo San Juan El Arenal, a name that means 'like a place of sand' referring to the local soil, which with the all year round sun and cool Andean evenings is crucial for producing grapes of the quality required for ABA Pisco.
