Taketsuru 12 Years-Old is a vatted Japanese malt whisky, blended using single malts from Nikki's Yoichi and Miyagikyo Distilleries. Named in honour of Masataka Taketsuru, one of the two founders of the Japanese whisky industry and the founder of Nikka, the company which produces this "pure malt".

Appearance:

Clear, mid golden amber with polished golden highlights.

Aroma:

Clean, fresh, honeyed green apple skin with vanilla and faint lime zestiness.

Taste:

Fresh, tightly integrated, soft and honeyed. The green apple on the nose as become more cider-like on a biscuity palate with salty buttery toffee and light cinnamon spice.

Aftertaste:

Green apple skin, cinnamon spice and salty fudge.
