Also known as ‘Rosé Dry’, Lady Rose is assembled using two champagne winemaking techniques: Pinot Noir wines vinified through maceration are blended with Chardonnay and Pinot wines racked prior to secondary fermentation. Packaged in a pink sleeved bottle, Lady Rose is designed as a dessert champagne

First released in 2012, Lady Rose is a blend of 85% Chardoonay and 15% Pinot Noir. Additionally, Pinot Noir vinified as white wine is aged in oak for 10 to 12 months and added to the belend with the dosage which is 25g/litre.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 25/10/2012

Appearance:

Clear, rust coloured with subdued bubbles.

Aroma:

Rose petal, biscuit and floral honeysuckle.

Taste:

The bottle might look like ‘Barbie Champagne’ but the high sugar content, while obvious, is well balanced by oak aged Pinot Noir complexity.

Aftertaste:

Layers of complex fruits of the forest, meringue and toasty biscuit.
