Launched in Released in 2015, Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Rye Whiskey is made with a mash bill containing 53% rye, 33% corn and 14% malted barley.

Appearance:

(sample bottle batch 011, bottle No. 01302) Clear, coppery amber.

Aroma:

Acacia honey, resinous cedar, tobacco leaf, cinnamon, nutmeg and black pepper spice, with blanched almond, mint, marzipan, vanilla, apple and pear.

Taste:

Clove, cinnamon and black pepper spice with resinous cedar wood, dry faintly smoky oak, toasty malt, tobacco leaf, vanilla and baked apple.

Aftertaste:

Long woody clove spiced finish.

Overall:

At mere 45.2% alc./vol. and with a low 53% rye mash bill, in both its composition and flavour, this is a quite bourbon-like straight rye – consequently it's much easier drinking than your average straight rye.
