Dewar’s “double-age” their whiskies by re-casking them for a marrying period after blending. In 2019, Dewar’s Master Blender, Stephanie Macleod, extended this to create her own 4-stage ageing process known as Double Double ageing. Honeyed leather, vanilla fudge, nougat and spice (nutmeg & cinnamon) with faint nuts and banana chew fruit.
Mellow, rich and honeyed with caramel, vanilla fudge, enlivening cinnamon and black pepper spice.
Caramel, vanilla fudge and cinnamon spice.
Smoother than a velvet codpiece with honey, caramel and vanilla fudge, but with enlivening spice.
