One of two expressions from Dufftown launched in May 2014 (the other being Sunray) using cask selection to create malts with distinctive flavour characteristics. Tailfire is matured in a higher proportion of European oak casks selected to enhance red berry, vanilla and fresh cut grass notes.

Appearance:
Clear, golden amber.
Aroma:
New leather, baked peach, red berries, cut grass, nutmeg and cinnamon spice.
Taste:
Spicy berry fruity and buttery vanilla with nutty wood and dry tannins.
Aftertaste:
Fruity with warning peppery spice.
