The House of Lustau established its Solera Standout Competition in 2016 and continued to grow this celebration of cocktails using products crafted and aged in a solera and criaderas system until 2020. Ten years after its initial launch, the Solera Standout Competition returns for 2026.
2016

- Only in the USA Lustau Ambassadors select top 16 recipes (semi-finalists)
- Private tasting in Madrid with Lustau team and local bartenders
to name the 4 finalists. - Finals in San Marcos Castle (El Puerto de Sta. María) in Fall.
2017
- Features Brandy de Jerez, Vermut, and Sherry Wine
- Only in the USA
- Same concept as in 2016. Top 8 recipes narrowed down to 4 finalists in the Sherry Triangle in a public event organised in Handshake (Freehand Hotel), Miami (FL).
- Finalists compete in Sherry Triangle (Fall) in San Marcos Castle.
2018
- Features Brandy de Jerez, Vermut, and Sherry Wine
- Only in the USA
- Same as in 2016 and 2017. Top 8 recipes narrowed down to 4 finalists in an event tour taking place in California, Colorado and the District of Columbia.
- Finalists compete in Sherry Triangle (Fall) in San Marcos Castle
2019
- Features Brandy de Jerez, Vermut, and Sherry Wine
- USA, Germany, Japan and UK
- Each country's finalists were brought to the Sherry Triangle for the finals
and the grand final. Judging criteria were the same for every country. - Grand Final to discover the winner of the USA, Germany, Japan and the UK in an event organised at Lustau's Bodega.
2020
- Cancelled due to COVID 19.
2022/23
- Features Brandy de Jerez, Vermut, and Sherry Wine
- Only in the USA Grand Final to discover the winner of the USA in an event organised in Washington, DC.
- Winner of the competition received a Lustau internship.
