Named after Don Quijote, the protagonist in Miguel Cervantes' classic Spanish novel, Don Q is the best-selling rum in Puerto Rico. Don Q Cristal is distilled from fermented molasses using continuous distillation and is aged for at least one year in ex-bourbon casks before being charcoal filtered.

Appearance:

Crystal clear.

Aroma:

Clean, subdued with faint cinnamon, cracked black pepper, white chocolate and old leather.

Taste:

Clean, light-bodied. Cracked black pepper with delicate notes of pineapple and passion fruit. Faint burnt sugar/molasses, toffee, cinnamon and mace.

Aftertaste:

Long, dry, cracked black pepper with faint pineapple and fudge.

Overall:

A superbly clean light white rum that's perfectly suited as a base for cocktails such as a Daiquiri in which subtle caramelised sugar notes are amplified.
