Famous for their fruit eaux-de-vie, Schladerer say they have “redefined maraschino” by blending traditional Maraska spirit and their distillate of Black Forest sour cherries – a speciality for which they are noted – to make this Schwarzwald Maraschino.

Appearance:
Crystal clear. Thick and glass coating.
Aroma:
Pungent fresh ripe cherries – maraschino and plump dark cherries, with almond/amaretto nuttiness, and faint vanilla. Very endearing.
Taste:
Fresh cherry fruit and almond. Slightly syrupy and sweet but with balancing bitter almond and subtle spice.
Aftertaste:
Long lingering nutty cherry with hint of vanilla ice-cream and delicate spice.
Overall:
Wonderfully clean and fruity with bitter almond notes and light spice adding complexity. Sweet yet superbly balanced with multilayered cherry - fresh, jammy and even raspberry fruitiness. A very high quality fresh and fruity maraschino liqueur.
