The Strucchi range pays homage to Arnaldo Strucchi, author of one of the most significant and detailed manuals on Vermouth of Turin, which remains a respected reference work today. This rosso vermouth is designed to evoke the taste and quality of the early 1900s.

This vermouth's striking label was created by Piedmontese contemporary artist Riccardo Guasco. Guasco linked each of the four Strucchi products to a famous historical character, in this case, Mata Hari.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 22/11/2024

Appearance:

Clear & bright, golden amber.

Aroma:

Green grapes, bay leaf and tobacco with deep herbal fragrances.

Taste:

Medium-bodied. Bittersweet with tobacco leaf, cola cubes, anise, liquorice, nutmeg, cinnamon and cleansing white pepper.

Aftertaste:

Bittersweet and long with lingering cola cubes and herbal spice.

Overall:

A brilliantly balanced, flavoursome and very versatile all-rounder "sweet vermouth" that's a conversationist rather than being shouty.
