325th Anniversary

2016 marks the 325th anniversary since Joannes Nolet opened his distillery in 1691 and to mark the occasion, the family have created a commemorative limited edition one-litre Ketel One bottle.

Covered in a copper matte representing the pot stills it is made in, with a design inspired by the ironwork above the main entrance to the distillery, the bottle also has coins representing the first ten generations. And while the regular Ketel One bottle has Carolus Nolet's signature, this commemorative bottle rightly also has the signature of his two sons, Bob and Carl – representing the 11th generation.

Holding a Ketel One bottle at an anniversary dinner in America, Carl said, "My father told me there were two ways my name would wind up on this. Either my signature on the label, or by my own finger on the dust if it didn't sell." Both he and Bob have ensured it sold.

325 years is worthy of celebration and the Nolet family threw the most incredible party, inviting over 350 people from around the world to their distillery in Schiedam. Guests were treated to a lavish meal accompanied by fabulous cocktails and entertainment. Images from the distillery's 325-year history were projected onto the family's windmill on the opposite bank of the canal, and this was followed by a spectacular firework display. However, as one of the lucky guests, the most incredible part of this weekend of celebrations was the feeling of extended family amongst all present – all unified in respect for the Nolet's and their products.
