Kahlúa has been known and regarded as a coffee-flavoured rum-based liqueur since 1936 when it was created by Senior Blanco, Montalvo Lara and the Alvarez brothers in Mexico.
Their liqueur was flavoured with Arabica coffee from rural Veracruz in Mexico. It still is! However, there's no longer just one Kahlúa liqueur, and the entrepreneurs' vision has evolved with the addition of indulgent cream and flavours blended with the original Kahlúa base ingredients.
