Launched summer 2017, Merchant’s Heart is range of mixers created by Suntory, who incidental also own the Schweppes brand. Indeed, Merchant’s Heart only came about after Suntory had developed a successful range of premium Schweppes tonics for the Spanish market in answer to the boom in gin drinking there. However, Suntory were unable to bring this range of premium mixers into the UK due to the Schweppes brand being historical licensed to Coca Cola. Hence, Suntory developed the Merchant’s Heart range for the UK market.

Suntory like the Merchant’s Heart range described as “Spirit Enhancers” rather than “mixers” and the Merchant's Heart website suggests some interesting recipes that do indeed enhance rather than mask the spirit’s flavour. All the products in the range are highly carbonated.
