Review

Teuchers is apparently a somewhat disparaging Scottish term for a Highlander or anyone from the countryside. You'll find little else disparaging about this brilliantly run traditional pub, loved by football, rugby and whisky fans alike.

The interior is clean, spick and span with chunky wooden beams and a mix of leather sofas and chairs at wooden tables all contributing to the 'make-yourself-at-home' environment. Large TV screens show football and rugby and when a match is on you'll be lucky to get one food inside the place.

The empty tubes from bottles of malt whisky that line the shelves around the bar tell a tale and Teuchers usually as at least 80 malts to choose from. Beer lovers are also well catered for with four constantly changing ales while wine drinkers have 16 choices by the glass.

With a restaurant (called A Room In) in the basement below this pub tends to concentrate on drinks but there are filled rolls and often haggis stovies, lamb stew and such like available.
