Made by a family-owned artisanal distillery, this oude genever is distilled from equal parts corn, rye and malted barley, then aged in 200-litre new American oak casks for three years.
The fermented grain wash is triple distilled in a small pot still, then partially distilled a fourth time with juniper, liquorice, aniseed and other botanicals. Finally, the spirit and the botanical distillate are blended and reduced to 45% for ageing.

Appearance:
Clear, deep golden amber.
Aroma:
Piney gin-like juniper, newly sawn oak, vanilla and baking spices. Faint hint of aniseed.
Taste:
Piney juniper continues with layers of vanilla oak, cinnamon and black pepper spice. Hints of liquorice and aniseed.
Aftertaste:
Liquorice and aniseed are more pronounced in the long, oaky juniper finish.
Overall:
The oak aging masks the breadiness associated with genever to create a spirit that compares with an aged gin.
