Launched in 2010, Brasserie Dupont's Brewmaster, Olivier Dedeycker, has revived a 1950s stout recipe originally brewed by his grandfather. Made using Dupont's own yeast.

Appearance:

Slight sediment, very dark reddy brown - almost black, with long lasting beige head and slight lacing.

Aroma:

Heavily roasted espresso coffee and molasses. Very slight whiff of farmyard.

Taste:

Bitter, heavily roasted palate with charcoal and liquorice.

Aftertaste:

Slightly smoky peaty finish.
