Millésiméé is a blend of chardonnay (70%) from the Montagne de Reims and Pinot Noir matured for over 7 years. In 1976, a year which the Champagne region suffered unprecedented drought, Piper-Heidsieck introduced the Rare prestige cuvee, this 2002 is only the 8th vintage released in the past 30 years

A gold grape vine tiara created by Parisian Jeweller Arthus Bertrand is wrapped around the foot of the distinctive bottle which is packaged in a luxurious cardboard hinged box.

Review and Tasting

Sampled on 24/11/2012

Appearance:

Clear, pale golden with small vigorous mousse.

Aroma:

Green apple, lemon citrus, honey comb and chamomile with fresh kiwi fruit, toasted meringue and bruised mint leaves.

Taste:

Pleasingly assertive, toasted biscuit, clean lemon citrus and tart gooseberry-like acidity balancing subtle honey sweetness with faint kiwi fruit.

Aftertaste:

Lemon zesty citrus and subtle brioche and biscuit with slight pecan nut. Tiara bling factor has to be worth half a point.
