Billed as being "the world's first pure milk vodka", Black Cow is made from the milk of grass grazed cows at Childhay Manor Farm in West Dorset and was created by dairy farmer Jason Barber as a way diversifying income from his 250 strong dairy herd.
To make Black Crow Vodka, the milk is separated into curds and whey. The curds are used to make cheese, the whey is fermented into a beer using a yeast which converts sugars in the milk to alcohol. This milk beer is then distilled and the distillate triple filtered before being hand bottled. Childhay Manor produce around 300 bottles per batch.
Bartenders beware: The thin neck diameter bottle will not accept standard speed-pourers.
