Launched in August 2013, this triple distilled Lowland single malt has been aged in new virgin oak American oak charred casks.

Appearance:

(sample Auchentoshan Virgin Oak II) Light golden amber.

Aroma:

Toasty cereal, vanilla and freshly sawn oak, nuts, sponge cake with orange zest, apricot, bitter mocha coffee, cinnamon and nutmeg.

Taste:

Buttery dry toasted oak/pencil shavings, vanilla, cinnamon and apple with bitter cacao and ground coffee. Caramel fudge emerges with water.

Aftertaste:

Spicy dry toasty oak with cinnamon, nutmeg, orange and light muscovado sugar.
