One of two expressions from Dufftown launched in May 2014 (the other being Tailfire) using cask selection to create malts with distinctive flavour characteristics. Sunray is mainly matured in toasted bourbon casks selected to impart honeyed vanilla sweetness with blackcurrant and baked apple notes

Appearance:

Clear, golden amber.

Aroma:

Zesty grapefruit, honey, vanilla, lychee and new leather with cherry drops and cinnamon. Water brings out red apple skin.

Taste:

Malty cereal, vanilla, blanched almond, grapefruit zest, nutmeg and cinnamon spice. Water releases stewed apple, pastry and amplifies spice.

Aftertaste:

Red apple, black pepper spice and cinnamon.
