Launched in its domestic market in 2012, Divine Tropical Lychee Wine is made from lychee pulp, extracted from Mauritius grown fruit after shelling and removing the stone. The pulp is fermented with cultured yeast for 3 weeks to produce a wine which is left to settle for 2 weeks prior to bottling.
Review and Tasting
Sampled on 18/10/2014
Appearance:
Clear, very pale golden.
Aroma:
Lychee, kiwi and white grapes with grassy overripe pineapple.
Taste:
Underlying wine-like flavour (reminiscent of Gewürztraminer), lychee, not quite ripe pineapple, cut grass, kiwi fruit and melon.
Aftertaste:
White grape and tropical fruit with drying acidity. Overall: Serve well-chilled, this is a quaffable off-dry fruity wine.
